The Carolina Skytower is one of Carowinds' original attractions. Opened on March 31, 1973, it was originally sponsored by Eastern Airlines and designed by Intamin AG of Switzerland. Carolina Skytower has a circular cabin that transports guests 262 feet above the midway where guests have a panoramic view of the entire park and the Charlotte skyline. Skytower can withstand wind speeds up to 120mph!
